Amit Garg

Co-founder and General Partner, Tau Ventures

Recently closed — Fund IIICompiled July 2026

Seed-stage applied AI across digital health, enterprise, and physical AI. Overlap first, not founder first.

Tau's on Fund III now, and Amit's clear that the thesis isn't a rigid box. The through line is applied AI, meaning you've got some real edge in putting it to work, whether that's proprietary data or catching errors earlier, not just a wrapper on somebody else's model.

The checks have grown with each fund. Fund I wrote $250K, Fund II wrote $500K, and Fund III targets $500K to $1M, with room to go bigger by pulling in LPs.

Three verticals, all places he and his co-founder spent their careers. Digital health, where about 95% of what they back sits outside FDA oversight, though he'll take some. Enterprise, leaning HR tech, fintech and cybersecurity. And physical AI, meaning cars, drones and robots. Software-first but friendly to hardware. Timing counts as much as sector here: he's looking for companies roughly 9 to 18 months out from their next round, with the CEO based in the US.

On how he works with founders, he'll tell you "founder first" is mostly marketing. His version is overlap first. He's got his interests, you've got yours, and he plays where the two actually meet.
