Daniel Osei

Founding Partner, Ledgerline Ventures

Deploying — Fund IIVerified July 2026

Invests in the boring financial rails underneath fast-growing markets, mostly outside the US.

Daniel built payments infrastructure at two companies before starting Ledgerline, and his thesis comes straight out of that operating experience. He thinks the interesting arbitrage in fintech is no longer the consumer-facing product but the settlement, compliance and reconciliation layers that every product in a given market is forced to share. Fund I concentrated in West Africa and Southeast Asia and he has been explicit that Fund II will not chase whichever geography is fashionable. He typically comes in at seed, will follow on aggressively into Series A, and prefers to be the only institutional investor on the cap table at entry. He is known for asking founders to walk him through their unit economics at a transaction level rather than a monthly one, and for passing on companies that cannot do it from memory.

Crypto trading products, neobanks in saturated markets, and any company where regulatory approval is assumed rather than already in progress.
